Dreamer: Inspired By a True Story

A Girl, A Horse, And A Recurring Dream: Yet Another Underdog Story
Well, here's a big surprise--"Dreamer" holds no surprises. It's an oft told tale: girl finds horse, girl loses horse, girl gets horse back, and together they can be legends! The horse in question here is a racing champion who breaks a leg. Instead of putting it down, the girl and her father save and mend it. When that goes exceedingly well, all hopes return to making a racing champion once again.

The girl in question is Dakota Fanning. Gosh, who's going to root against her? While this is not my favorite Fanning performance, I am awed by her talent in general. I still think it's criminal that she was overlooked for an Emmy nomination for "Taken" and an Oscar nomination for the horrendous "I Am Sam" (a film she all but holds together due to a ridiculously over-the-top performance by the nominated Sean Penn).

Kurt Russell is her dour father learning to believe again. He's fine. But in two underwritten roles, I did like what Elisabeth Shue and Kris Kristofferson have...

Inspiring FAMILY Movie
I saw this movie when it first came out and loved it. I wanted to own it. This movie is not only about a horse, but a Father-Daughter relationship that is so inspiring.

A sweet movie for kids
My 8 and 5 year old grandchildren love this movie, especially if they like horses. I enjoyed the movie also for their was no
cursing, just a good clean movie for family and kids to enjoy
