Brava, Nana
I love every moment of this CD. Nana has recorded these songs before, and she returns with beautiful arrangements and reinforcements--different singers on each song. Nana sounds rejuvenated, and I can't decide which I like best, the slow beat of 'La vie, l'amour, la mort' with Lara Fabian, the melodic 'Here's to You' with Joan Baez, 'le ciel est noir' with Garou, 'Pauvre Rutebeuf' with Alain Delon, 'Grande, Grande, Grande' with Julio Iglesias,' Guantanamera' with Francis Cabrel, 'Tous les arbres sont en fleurs' with Lenou, 'C'est bon la vie' with Alain Souchon, 'je chant pour toi Liberte' with Herbert Leonard, 'Suzanne' with Graeme Allwritght, 'Adieu Angelina' with Roche Voisin, 'Quand tu chantes' with Martinho da Vila, or 'le temp des cerises' with Dave.
I have a selfish hope that this CD is so successful that Nana continues to record more and more duos. She obviously enjoys singing with others, so I'm hoping for more duos with French singers, then duos with German...
Simply, wonderful !!
This is a wonderful album, created by our loved Greek singer. Nana Mouskouri presents new versions of some of her greatest songs. She sings in Spanish, in English, in French, in Portuguese as usual but this time she is accompained by some great artists and friends of her, including her daughter Lenou.
What a beautiful voices, what a beautiful instrumental score !
Don't miss it if you love the very good and fine softlistening and of course if you are a true Nana's fan.
And also look for the German version of this album, highly recommended !
This is the fourth CD I buy for pleasure and for giving as a present.
The first one was bought in Paris and I listen it once and once again. The second CD bought, by Amazon is still sealed for the comming time ...in order to preserve this wonderful treasure.
Welcome Back Nana
Every cut on this album is ecxellent. It amazes me that whenever I mention Nana Mouskouri to people I know they say--Who? Good thing the worlds largest selling female artist did not have to depend on the US to sell records. This album is a welcome surprise and all the Duets work. Nana's voice is as beautiful as ever.
